| CVE-2026-98777 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 3.3 Low |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binder: fix leaked fd fixups on TF_UPDATE_TXN supersede When a TF_UPDATE_TXN transaction supersedes a pending async transaction in a frozen process, the outdated transaction is freed with kfree() directly. This skips binder_free_txn_fixups(), leaking all binder_txn_fd_fixup entries and their fget()'d struct file references. The leaked file refcounts never reach zero, so the struct file objects are permanently pinned in memory. They survive process exit and accumulate across invocations until file-max exhaustion. Every other transaction cleanup path (binder_free_transaction(), binder_transaction() error paths, binder_release_work()) correctly calls binder_free_txn_fixups(). Add the missing call before kfree() in the t_outdated cleanup block. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98710 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 2.3 Low |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlegacy: 3945: free EEPROM data on remove il3945_pci_probe() calls il_eeprom_init(), which allocates memory for the EEPROM data. The probe failure paths release this allocation with il_eeprom_free(), but the remove path does not free it after a successful probe. As a result, the EEPROM data is leaked when the PCI device is removed. Free the EEPROM data in il3945_pci_remove() before releasing the mac80211 hardware structure. This issue was found by manual code inspection. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98705 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 6.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: account proxy paths against the mesh path limit Proxy-path churn can drive the interface path counter negative and let later mesh path additions exceed MESH_MAX_MPATHS. mesh_path_free_rcu() decrements the interface mpaths counter for entries from both the mesh and proxy path tables, but mpp_path_add() never reserves a slot in that counter. Removing or expiring a proxy path therefore returns a slot that was never charged. mesh_path_add() uses the same counter to enforce MESH_MAX_MPATHS, so once it falls below the number of installed paths the limit no longer holds. Reserve the shared quota before allocating a proxy path and release it on every unsuccessful addition. Mesh and proxy paths now share one 1024-entry budget, so mpp_path_add() can return -ENOSPC at that limit. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98701 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 4.3 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: release mesh path quota on failed additions Repeated failed or duplicate mesh path additions can exhaust MESH_MAX_MPATHS while the path table holds fewer paths, which stops new paths to reachable destinations from being created. mesh_path_add() reserves a slot before allocating and inserting a path. If allocation fails, the function returns without releasing the slot. If the rhashtable insertion reports an error or an existing destination, the function discards its candidate but retains the reservation. No new path is installed in any of these cases. Release the reservation whenever the candidate is not installed. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98697 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 1.9 Low |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: fix dynamic id driver deregistration race Only free the dynamic ids after having deregistered the driver and removed the "new_id" attribute to avoid leaking any id added by a racing write to the attribute. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98671 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 2.3 Low |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: sun4i-gpadc-iio: clean up on thermal zone registration failure If devm_thermal_of_zone_register() fails, probe returns without unregistering the IIO map array or disabling runtime PM. Jump to err_map to release them. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98502 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 3.3 Low |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: alps: unregister DualPoint Stick input device on remove alps_input_configured() allocates a second input device ("DualPoint Stick") with input_allocate_device() and registers it, but the alps_driver struct has no .remove handler and input2 is not tracked in hdev->inputs. The default remove path (hid_hw_stop -> hidinput_disconnect) only iterates hdev->inputs, so input2 is never unregistered and leaks on every device removal. Add a .remove handler that stops the device first (preventing URB callbacks from touching input2 during teardown) and then unregisters input2. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98486 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 1.9 Low |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ena: fix MMIO read buffer leak on probe failure ena_device_init() initializes the MMIO read mechanism with ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_init(), which allocates a coherent DMA buffer for MMIO read responses. The normal removal path releases this buffer through ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_destroy(). However, if ena_probe() fails after ena_device_init() succeeds, the error path destroys the admin resources and eventually frees ena_dev without destroying the MMIO read request, leaving the coherent DMA buffer allocated. Call ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_destroy() in the probe error path before releasing the remaining device resources. This issue was found by manual code inspection. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98453 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 4.3 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: close handle after create-context parsing failure SMB2_open() accounts a successful CREATE response as a remote open before parsing its create contexts. If smb2_parse_contexts() rejects malformed context data, SMB2_open() returns without closing the handle, leaving the server-side handle open and num_remote_opens elevated. Close the handle after a post-CREATE context parsing failure so the error path releases the remote resource and balances the open count. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98451 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: use finish_no_open() for non-regular inodes An O_CREAT open can find an existing symlink or another non-regular inode. cifs_atomic_open() calls finish_open() on it and attaches a cifsFileInfo. Symlink inodes have no CIFS release operation, so the dentry reference held by cifsFileInfo is leaked. FMODE_OPENED also prevents the VFS from following the symlink. Track whether cifs_do_create() returned an open server handle. For non-regular inodes, close the handle if present, remove the pending open, and call finish_no_open() so the VFS can continue the lookup. Do not set FMODE_CREATED unless a regular file was opened. For O_NOFOLLOW with __O_REGULAR, return -ELOOP before the VFS's -EFTYPE check. Defer closing a legacy POSIX handle on a non-regular inode until after inode lookup. This avoids closing it again if lookup fails. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98450 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 3.3 Low |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: close completed creates on compound wait errors compound_send_recv() waits for responses in order. If a later wait is interrupted, or if a later MID fails during response synchronization, an earlier CREATE may already have opened a remote handle. The earlier mid is then released without invoking handle_cancelled_mid(), leaving the remote handle open because no FID was copied to the caller. Mark completed earlier mids as cancelled when a compound wait or MID synchronization aborts. Keep their response buffers attached while the MIDs are synchronized, and transfer them only after synchronization of the processed responses, so the release path can inspect successful CREATE responses and queue SMB2_close() after a later failure. Account for a remote open only after the close work is allocated and before it is queued, since the caller has not yet updated num_remote_opens. Mark the create+close compound used by smb2_unlink() so it is not closed again. Non-CREATE responses and compounds that already include a close keep their existing behavior. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98172 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix smbd_connection leak on cifs_get_tcp_session() error When an RDMA connection is successfully established via smbd_get_connection() but cifs_get_tcp_session() later fails (e.g. kthread_create() returns an error), the error path frees tcp_ses without first destroying the smbd_connection. Fix this by calling smbd_destroy() in the out_err cleanup path before kfree(tcp_ses). smbd_destroy() safely handles the case where smbd_conn is NULL, so it can be called unconditionally. | ||||
| CVE-2026-97939 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipmr: account multicast table and route memory A netadmin in a user+net namespace can create many IPv4 and IPv6 multicast routing tables with MRT_TABLE and MRT6_TABLE. Each unseen id allocates an mr_table via the shared mr_table_alloc(), links it into the per-net list, and leaves it until netns teardown. Those objects were not charged to memcg, so the host unreclaimable slab grows with the table count. Account mr_table allocations with GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT and mark the IPv4/IPv6 MFC caches SLAB_ACCOUNT. This matches the established handling of IP addresses, routes and alternate interface names. Unresolved MFC entries are still allocated from softIRQ with GFP_ATOMIC and are not charged. They expire after 10 seconds and are bounded by the socket receive queue; see commit 0079ad8e8dc3 ("ipmr: remove hard code cache_resolve_queue_len limit"). | ||||
| CVE-2026-97616 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_api: release all action references on NEWACTION failure When a batched RTM_NEWACTION request replaces an existing action, tcf_idr_check_alloc() takes a temporary reference on it. If a later action fails to initialize, tcf_action_destroy() uses strict release semantics to clean up the actions initialized so far. For an action bound to a filter, the strict check returns -EPERM without dropping the temporary reference. This error also makes tcf_action_destroy() return before releasing subsequent entries. Any new action initialized between the bound action and the failing entry is leaked together with its reserved IDR slot, preventing reuse of its index. Use tcf_idr_release() to drop each reference held by the batch without rejecting bound actions. This allows cleanup to continue through all initialized entries and preserves the module reference release when an action is destroyed. Explicit action deletion and flushing retain their separate bind-count checks. | ||||
| CVE-2026-97597 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: flowlabel: cap duplicate leases per socket ipv6_flowlabel_get() allocates an ipv6_fl_socklist entry for every successful GET. The recheck path for a compatible existing flowlabel links another lease without applying any lease admission check. Repeated GET requests for one shareable label can therefore grow a socket's lease list without bound. Reject a new unprivileged lease once the socket already holds FL_MAX_PER_SOCK leases. Check this on the shared recheck path so reuse of a globally interned label, including the fl_intern() collision path, is covered as well. New-label admission remains under the existing mem_check() policy. Use capable(CAP_NET_ADMIN) rather than ns_capable(), matching mem_check(). An unprivileged user must not bypass the cap by creating a user namespace and a netns where they have CAP_NET_ADMIN, which would still consume host memory. Check the capability only when the socket reaches the limit, so successful unprivileged GET requests below the cap do not generate a capability audit. Do the admission check before updating linger and expires so a rejected GET does not refresh the shared label, matching the existing socket-list allocation failure path. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93823 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdkfd: Let driver decide buffer size at AMDKFD_IOC_GET_DMABUF_INFO ioctl amdkfd driver needs allocate buffer to return bo metadata to user space. The buffer size is controlled by user currently. It is a potential security issue that hostile value (e.g. 2 GiB) lets any render-group user trigger order-MAX allocation/OOM in kernel context. This patch first finds bo metadata size. If the size is smaller than user provided value drive can safely allocate buffer in kernel space and copy to user space buffer. If not, driver will let user know, not allocate and copy. User will redo with new buffer in user space. This patch lets driver decide buffer allocation size to avoid potential hostile size from user space. (cherry picked from commit f54ce9e8cbd3abe0eda3a285f54dc4f572fe589a) | ||||
| CVE-2026-93208 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kasan: fix cache shrink race with CPU hotplug kasan_quarantine_remove_cache() first invokes per_cpu_remove_cache() on all online CPUs. Each callback moves objects belonging to the cache from cpu_quarantine to the CPU's shrink_qlist, where they can later be freed from task context. kmem_cache_destroy() invokes the quarantine removal path while holding cpus_read_lock(), but kmem_cache_shrink() does not. The latter can therefore race with CPU offlining as follows: kmem_cache_shrink() CPU hotplug ------------------- ----------- on_each_cpu() CPU1 moves objects to CPU1's shrink_qlist on_each_cpu() returns CPU1 goes offline kasan_cpu_offline() drains cpu_quarantine leaves shrink_qlist untouched for_each_online_cpu() skips CPU1 The objects left on CPU1's shrink_qlist are not returned to the slab allocator. This may prevent kmem_cache_shrink() from releasing slabs that would otherwise become empty. If CPU1 remains offline, a later kmem_cache_destroy() also skips the list and can report that the cache still contains objects. An intermittent occurrence was observed with a virtio-9p filesystem. The mount and umount commands both returned 0, but the kernel logged the following during the userspace-triggered teardown: [ 2994.380134][ T111] BUG 9p-fcall-cache-1 (Tainted: G B ): Objects remaining on __kmem_cache_shutdown() [ 2994.381140][ T111] Object 0xff11000004361118 @offset=4376 [ 2994.381607][ T111] Allocated in p9_fcall_init+0x201/0x400 age=19564 cpu=1 pid=104 [ 2994.382591][ T111] p9_fcall_init+0x201/0x400 [ 2994.382810][ T111] p9_tag_alloc+0x12f/0x700 [ 2994.382982][ T111] p9_client_prepare_req+0x102/0x3e0 [ 2994.383165][ T111] p9_client_rpc+0x1ab/0xa50 [ 2994.383334][ T111] p9_client_getattr_dotl+0xb0/0x1a0 [ 2994.383515][ T111] v9fs_vfs_getattr_dotl+0x115/0x360 [ 2994.383719][ T111] vfs_getattr_nosec+0x22c/0x3a0 [ 2994.383910][ T111] vfs_statx+0xd7/0x170 [ 2994.384062][ T111] vfs_fstatat+0x45/0x80 [ 2994.384215][ T111] __do_sys_newfstatat+0x84/0xe0 [ 2994.384386][ T111] do_syscall_64+0x115/0x6a0 [ 2994.384566][ T111] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f [ 2994.399720][ T111] WARNING: mm/slub.c:1244 at __kmem_cache_shutdown+0x363/0x500, CPU#0: busybox/111 [ 2994.405655][ T111] Call Trace: [ 2994.406325][ T111] kmem_cache_destroy+0x73/0x1b0 [ 2994.406630][ T111] p9_client_destroy+0x271/0x3c0 [ 2994.407210][ T111] v9fs_session_close+0x3c/0x260 [ 2994.407409][ T111] v9fs_kill_super+0x48/0x90 [ 2994.407584][ T111] deactivate_locked_super+0xa3/0x160 [ 2994.407778][ T111] cleanup_mnt+0x1dd/0x3e0 Thus, a successful umount left objects in the 9p fcall cache and prevented the cache from being destroyed cleanly. Per-CPU shrink_qlist storage exists for every possible CPU, and each list is protected by its own raw spinlock. Iterate over possible CPUs so that a list populated before its CPU went offline is drained as well. for_each_possible_cpu() can do more work than for_each_online_cpu(), but this change only affects CONFIG_KASAN_GENERIC kernels. The extra work is limited to cache shrink and cache destruction paths and does not affect the normal allocation/free fast path. It adds one raw-spinlock-protected scan of each possible CPU's shrink list. These lists are normally empty; a non-empty list is traversed to remove objects belonging to the cache being shrunk or destroyed. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93116 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 7 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: asus-wmi: fix resource leaks on probe failure During driver initialization in asus_wmi_add(), various subsystems are registered sequentially. However, the error path labels are out of order relative to the registration sequence. Specifically: 1. If asus_wmi_custom_fan_curve_init() fails, the driver jumps to fail_custom_fan_curve. Because this label is placed below fail_sysfs, it bypasses the cleanup calls for the input device and sysfs groups, which were successfully registered before, leaking those resources. 2. If asus_screenpad_init() fails, the driver jumps to fail_screenpad. Because fail_screenpad is placed below fail_backlight, it bypasses the cleanup calls for backlight and rfkill, leaking those resources. Fix these resource leaks by reordering the error path labels in asus_wmi_add() to match the exact reverse order of the resource allocations. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: nl80211: clean up color-change beacon data on errors nl80211_color_change() calls nl80211_parse_beacon() for the beacon_next template, which can allocate params.beacon_next.mbssid_ies and .rnr_ies. A parsing failure returned directly instead of using the out: cleanup, leaking any allocations completed before the error. Allocate the nested attribute table before parsing beacon_next. Its allocation failure can then return before beacon data exists, while a later parsing failure uses out: to release the parsed data. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: logitech-hidpp: Fix FF device cleanup on init failure hidpp_ff_init() creates the input force-feedback device with input_ff_create(), then allocates the HID++ FF private data, effect ID array, and workqueue. If any of those allocations fail after input_ff_create() succeeds, the function returns an error without destroying the FF device. Add an unwind path that frees the private allocations made by hidpp_ff_init() and calls input_ff_destroy() for failures after input_ff_create() succeeds. | ||||
