CVSS v3.1 |
| A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability [CWE-121] vulnerability in Fortinet FortiOS 7.6.1 through 7.6.6 may allow an unauthenticated attacker who can bypass stack protection and ASLR to execute arbitrary code or commands in the context of the WAD daemon via crafted sockets, only if the explicit proxy is configured with Kerberos authentication and SOCKS enabled. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: stk1160: fix bounds checking in stk1160_copy_video()
The subtract in this condition is reversed. The ->length is the length
of the buffer. The ->bytesused is how many bytes we have copied thus
far. When the condition is reversed that means the result of the
subtraction is always negative but since it's unsigned then the result
is a very high positive value. That means the overflow check is never
true.
Additionally, the ->bytesused doesn't actually work for this purpose
because we're not writing to "buf->mem + buf->bytesused". Instead, the
math to calculate the destination where we are writing is a bit
involved. You calculate the number of full lines already written,
multiply by two, skip a line if necessary so that we start on an odd
numbered line, and add the offset into the line.
To fix this buffer overflow, just take the actual destination where we
are writing, if the offset is already out of bounds print an error and
return. Otherwise, write up to buf->length bytes. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: scomp - fix req->dst buffer overflow
The req->dst buffer size should be checked before copying from the
scomp_scratch->dst to avoid req->dst buffer overflow problem. |
| IBM DataPower Gateway 10.5.0.0 through 10.5.0.22, 10.6.1 through 10.6.6, 10.6.0.0 through 10.6.0.10, and 11.0.0.0 through 11.0.0.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code due to a buffer overflow. |
| Dell PowerProtect Data Manager, versions 20.2.0.0 and below, contain a stack buffer overflow vulnerability in file-level restore agent. A high privileged remote attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Information disclosure. |
| ncurses before 6.4 20230408, when used by a setuid application, allows local users to trigger security-relevant memory corruption via malformed data in a terminfo database file that is found in $HOME/.terminfo or reached via the TERMINFO or TERM environment variable. |
| A flaw was found in the exFAT driver of the Linux kernel. The vulnerability exists in the implementation of the file name reconstruction function, which is responsible for reading file name entries from a directory index and merging file name parts belonging to one file into a single long file name. Since the file name characters are copied into a stack variable, a local privileged attacker could use this flaw to overflow the kernel stack. |
| IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.0, 12.1, and 12.2 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code due to a stack-based buffer overflow. |
| Substance3D - Stager is affected by a Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| A flaw was found in the GnuTLS library, specifically in the gnutls_pkcs11_token_init() function that handles PKCS#11 token initialization. When a token label longer than expected is processed, the function writes past the end of a fixed-size stack buffer. This programming error can cause the application using GnuTLS to crash or, in certain conditions, be exploited for code execution. As a result, systems or applications relying on GnuTLS may be vulnerable to a denial of service or local privilege escalation attacks. |
| A flaw was found in the interactive shell of the xmllint command-line tool, used for parsing XML files. When a user inputs an overly long command, the program does not check the input size properly, which can cause it to crash. This issue might allow attackers to run harmful code in rare configurations without modern protections. |
| A flaw was found in GNU Coreutils. The sort utility's begfield() function is vulnerable to a heap buffer under-read. The program may access memory outside the allocated buffer if a user runs a crafted command using the traditional key format. A malicious input could lead to a crash or leak sensitive data. |
| A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the srxpfe of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved on the SRX Series allows an L2-adjacent attacker to execute arbitrary code as root via high-availability fabric traffic. |
| A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a configured external BGP neighbor to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges via BMP route monitoring. |
| A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the srxpfe process of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series allows an unauthenticated network attacker to execute code as root or cause a denial of service via a crafted packet received on a configured GRE tunnel. |
| A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated BGP peer to cause a denial of service and potential root-level command execution via crafted BGP route updates when the BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) is enabled. |
| In Perl 5.34.0, function S_find_uninit_var in sv.c has a stack-based crash that can lead to remote code execution or local privilege escalation. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in SQL Server allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
