| The (1) IPv6 and (2) ATM ioctl request handlers in the kernel in FreeBSD 8.3 through 9.2-STABLE do not validate SIOCSIFADDR, SIOCSIFBRDADDR, SIOCSIFDSTADDR, and SIOCSIFNETMASK requests, which allows local users to perform link-layer actions, cause a denial of service (panic), or possibly gain privileges via a crafted application. | ||||
| CVE-2012-4578 | 2 Freebsd, Pawel Jakub Dawidek | 2 Freebsd, Geli | 2025-04-11 | N/A |
| The geli encryption provider 7 before r239184 on FreeBSD 10 uses a weak Master Key, which makes it easier for local users to defeat a cryptographic protection mechanism via a brute-force attack. | ||||

| The vfs_hang_addrlist function in sys/kern/vfs_export.c in the NFS server implementation in the kernel in FreeBSD 8.3 and 9.x through 9.1-RELEASE-p5 controls authorization for host/subnet export entries on the basis of group information sent by the client, which allows remote attackers to bypass file permissions on NFS filesystems via crafted requests. | ||||
| CVE-2013-2171 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2025-04-11 | N/A |
| The vm_map_lookup function in sys/vm/vm_map.c in the mmap implementation in the kernel in FreeBSD 9.0 through 9.1-RELEASE-p4 does not properly determine whether a task should have write access to a memory location, which allows local users to bypass filesystem write permissions and consequently gain privileges via a crafted application that leverages read permissions, and makes mmap and ptrace system calls. | ||||
| CVE-2013-0211 | 5 Canonical, Fedoraproject, Freebsd and 2 more | 5 Ubuntu Linux, Fedora, Freebsd and 2 more | 2025-04-11 | N/A |
| Integer signedness error in the archive_write_zip_data function in archive_write_set_format_zip.c in libarchive 3.1.2 and earlier, when running on 64-bit machines, allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via unspecified vectors, which triggers an improper conversion between unsigned and signed types, leading to a buffer overflow. | ||||

| CVE-2019-5598 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2025-04-03 | N/A |
| In FreeBSD 11.3-PRERELEASE before r345378, 12.0-STABLE before r345377, 11.2-RELEASE before 11.2-RELEASE-p10, and 12.0-RELEASE before 12.0-RELEASE-p4, a bug in pf does not check if the outer ICMP or ICMP6 packet has the same destination IP as the source IP of the inner protocol packet allowing a maliciously crafted ICMP/ICMP6 packet could bypass the packet filter rules and be passed to a host that would otherwise be unavailable. | ||||
| CVE-2022-23087 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2025-03-27 | 8.8 High |
| The e1000 network adapters permit a variety of modifications to an Ethernet packet when it is being transmitted. These include the insertion of IP and TCP checksums, insertion of an Ethernet VLAN header, and TCP segmentation offload ("TSO"). The e1000 device model uses an on-stack buffer to generate the modified packet header when simulating these modifications on transmitted packets. When checksum offload is requested for a transmitted packet, the e1000 device model used a guest-provided value to specify the checksum offset in the on-stack buffer. The offset was not validated for certain packet types. A misbehaving bhyve guest could overwrite memory in the bhyve process on the host, possibly leading to code execution in the host context. The bhyve process runs in a Capsicum sandbox, which (depending on the FreeBSD version and bhyve configuration) limits the impact of exploiting this issue. | ||||
| CVE-2023-0751 | 1 Freebsd | 1 Freebsd | 2025-03-25 | 6.5 Medium |
| When GELI reads a key file from standard input, it does not reuse the key file to initialize multiple providers at once resulting in the second and subsequent devices silently using a NULL key as the user key file. If a user only uses a key file without a user passphrase, the master key is encrypted with an empty key file allowing trivial recovery of the master key. | ||||
